Bands evolve as the years go by.  As our taste for music changes,
friends will come and go.  For whatever the reason, they all played a
part in who we are and how we sound today.  To each and everyone of
them, Mahalo Nui Loa.  What started out as "The Rh Factor" back in
1988 with Jay Raphan, turned into "Zero to 60" for the next 8 years until
1996.  Playing the Wave, Jazz Cellar and every bar we could find with
other original bands such as Spiny Norman, Surf Cycle Sexy and a host
of other original bands trying to forge a original music scene in our
state. For the next few years there were various projects, a  couple of
short lived bands with some really excellent musicians, Bud Ciero, Mark
Tanoye, Mark Sperling, Lance Motogawa, Nan Krigbaum, Darrel Yuson,
Warren Washington & Ed Silva with "The Full Moon Band" .  Then in
2001,  Paradise Xs was born.  With Warren and myself along with a
multitude of drummers along the way playing as a rock trio, then a four
piece and back again as a trio.
In 2008, rock solid drummer Jesse
Morgan enters the band and Paradise Xs takes another leap forward
adding a greater range style and arrangements.  In 2010, Warren
switches to acoustic guitar and bassist Sam Doval joins the band.
Again, the band takes another leap forward allowing use to plays
favorites from Pink Floyd and beyond.
Here I am, twenty two years later
and going into 2010, we stand as a solid four piece band whose roots,
influences and personalities makes Paradise Xs one of the most unique
bands on Oahu today.
Now a main stay at the number one club for live
entertainment in Waikiki, Kelly O Neil's, we continue to hone our music
playing what makes life long musicians do what make them what they
are, play their hearts out and having fun expressing ourselves with our
music.
While other musicians have faded into the past, we continue to
express ourselves week after week, month after month. While many
have lost sight of their love of performing and have quit we forge on
making music that will make you move to
our groove.  We may have old
school in our blood and maybe not the best technicians but we definitely
have the most fun and can burn a groove with the best of them. We
don't play for a living we play to have fun and we play for ourselves.
After all, we live in paradise and you can never get enough Aloha, so
came the name
"Paradise Xs".
